A “rustoration” of mechanics including a newly rebuilt engine, transmission, and other driving components were installed to get this 85 year old vehicle back on the road. A new convertible top was also installed, and we restored the paint to bring back much of the luster that was lost with age.
November 26, 2014:
The convertible top was completed last week, and yesterday Johnny buffed the whole car with our paint restoration system. The shine on the existing paint is unbelievable! The car is now completed and ready to return to its home!
November 13, 2014:
The old convertible top has been removed and the new one is getting ready to be installed. George is replicating all of the features that were originally done to the top back in 1929, including wrapping the bows in bow drill.
October 20, 2014:
The front wheels and brake components have been removed in order for David to install new king pins.
September 25, 2014:
Wiring is completed and today is test drive day! We took the car around the block a few times and called it a very successful test drve! Watch it here
September 23, 2014:
After running 10 complete heat cycles and verifying that the engine and all components are running well, David and Kenny have moved onto installation of the new wiring harness and electrics.
September 16, 2014:
Engine ancillaries have been, and are being, installed including the carburetor, distributor, starter, etc.
September 8, 2014:
The transmission has been re-attached to the engine, and both have been installed into the car today.
September 2, 2014:
The rebuilt engine and transmission arrived at our shop a few weeks ago, and since then, David and Kenny have been getting the engine assembled and ready to install in the car. The clutch was installed and adjusted today.
June 9, 2014:
It was discovered that the engine needs to be rebuilt, so dis-assembly has begun to remove the engine and transmission for rebuilding.
