The Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most easily recognizable cars to date due to their rounded shape and popularity around the world. VW first started manufacturing the Beetle, or Bug as most call it, in the 1930’s, although it wasn’t produced in large numbers until the mid 1940’s. VW, along with several other manufacturers, led the way for rear-engine, rear wheel drive cars. By 1955, one million Beetles had been produced!
This Beetle features the single piece oval window, which was last made in 1956. It was followed in 1958 by a much larger, full sized window. During this time, the steel of the body was at its greatest strength and durability, and the Wolfsburg emblem on the hood was a complex fabrication. It was taken out of production shortly after this year.
While also looking adorable, this Beetle is a great car to drive. It is smooth and starts with ease. With low mileage and its impeccable interior/exterior, this will be a great vehicle to drive for many years to come.
