1957 Triumph TR3 Smallmouth

Very unusual RHD, we purchased this car recently from a gentleman who has owned it for 3 years. He purchased it from the gentleman who commissioned the restoration. A full frame off very nicely detailed and very comprehensive was done. Well detailed underneath chassis and underside of the car with all new suspension, koni shocks and bushings. Car was lowered approximately 1 inch which creates a very aggressive look with the addition of the 7 inch Lucas driving lights peering out of the grill opening. Green piping was also put on the body instead of the stainless strips to create more of a smooth racy appearance. The interior is very nicely done in black vinyl with white piping and correct loop carpet. Lifting any of the carpet shows that the entire body shell was stripped, sandblasted, and nicely painted throughout. The body is straight and paint is extremely well detailed and the engine obviously had 87mm pistons and liners installed when it was rebuilt as it is very strong. A 6 blade plastic fan from a TR6 was added to keep the car cool with the extra power, also HS6 carburetors from a TR4A were added along with a T-handle choke knob to eliminate sticking chokes as TR3s with H6s are famous for. Attention to detail throughout the entire car with tasteful modification such as a beautifully painted dash rather than vinyl wrapped. The car rides on a new set of Dayton stainless steel spoked wire wheels with modern radials. A new convertible top in black is being installed at the time of writing this, the car will come with a fitted new Robbins black crush grain top as original.

Currently the car has an everflex tonneau cover which fits extremely well. Details down to the spare tire well being painted exeptionally well and zero evidence of rust shows how nice this car must have been prior to restoration.

One of the greatest improvements was the Toyota Celica 5 speed transmission conversion. This eliminates the non synchronized transmission and also adds the 5th gear which is overdrive. The car feels very happy zipping down the road at 70mph. I am certain there are many people that are not sure about not owning a right hand car, I have multiple right hand cars and my favorite is my right hand drive TR5. After about 5 minutes of driving this car you will see how easy it is and how natural it feels. I think it is really cool having a British car as it is designed, it certainly makes you unique. The pictures represent this car very well and it is in fact as nice as it looks.
