We are very pleased to offer this fantastic car. While we did not do the restorations ourselves, this car was privy to a complete body off the frame restoration of a truly rock-solid California car that had never been hit. The restoration was started approximately 12 years ago and was the second TR4 the restorer had completed. He specifically searched for a California car which the tag in the engine bay proves that the car was dispatched to California new, so that he could do a comprehensive restoration on a car that did not have to have every panel replaced.
The car was stripped to bare metal and resprayed on a rotisserie. Originally this car was born white with a black interior but during restoration it was decided to paint it Triumph’s Powder Blue which was a factory correct color in '63. The car was done as a tribute to the factory works cars which were all done in Powder Blue.
One of the nicest features of the car is the simplistically beautiful white metal dash. While I love wooden dashes, there is an elegance to the white dash. The car is fitted with proper gray loop carpets which was the only color offered no matter what color the rest of the interior was. A full new panel set and beautiful leather seats in wedge wood blue really complement the powder blue.
The car has the extremely desirable Surrey Top with brand new soft top, factory overdrive and is fitted with a beautiful set of 8 spoke alloy wheels. The engine bay is very nice with a new wiring harness, upgraded dual point Mallory distributor, alloy valve cover, and an exact copy of the factory light bar in place of the front bumper with two Lucas 576 driving lights.
When we purchased the car we went through the entire brake system including master, calipers, wheel cylinders, hoses, pads, and shoes. A full service has been done to the car and it is truly ready to grace your garage.
