I purchased this car from a shop in Charlottesville that was doing some work for the original owner of this car. Approximately 20 years ago, the owner started an insane frame-up, nut/bolt, Concours restoration of his original 1970 Jaguar XKE Roadster with 32,000 actual miles that had never seen rust or accidents. Over a 6 year slow period, the car was completely brought to Concours spec, and has been a multiple winner at various JCNA national events. When I purchased the car, the car had only had about 10 actual miles of usage over the past 15 years, which basically amounted to loading on an enclosed trailer and unloading from the trailer to the show field. I spent close to $18,000 completely redoing the power steering pump and rack, the entire air conditioning system, the entire brake system, and the entire fuel system as well as removing the head and a complete rebuild including silicone bronze guides, hardened seats, stellite exhaust valves, stainless steel intake valves, new springs, and valve stem seals as well as tappet hold down sets and new cam bearings. We also put an improved Kometic head gasket and improved cooling fan, carburetors were rebuild, and fuel pump was replaced with a new solid-state pump that looks exactly as original, as well as new batteries, aluminum radiator, and multiple other things that had wear from time, rather than usage. The car still looks like it was finished yesterday, but it now is mechanically perfect.

This car has the original window sticker and bill of sale, is finished in beautiful white with red leather interior and Wilton wool carpets, with a black proper top. Everything about the car is exceptional and totally show worthy. The car has had about 500 miles put on it in the last year, and has performed flawlessly. Temperature stays where it should. Oil pressure is excellent, and air conditioning is truly ice cold with the improved compressor and R134 conversion. We even went as far as to pay $350 for 2 new NOS vent flaps for the evaporator. This is a no apologies car, yes it is a series 2 and not a series 1, but with series 1 approaching $350,000, this car truly is a steal.
